Questions
Questions schools ask
Do students need to know chess already?
No. The first lessons start with the board and how each piece moves. Students who already play get harder puzzles and tasks in the same class.
What does the demo class cost?
Nothing. The demo is free, with no obligation to continue.
What does the programme cost?
It depends on how many class groups are taught on each visit. After the demo we send a written proposal with the fee, so you know the exact amount before deciding.
What does the school arrange?
For classes on campus: a classroom or hall with a projector or screen, class slots in the timetable or after school, chess sets (ideally one board for every two students) and a staff contact. We can buy chess sets for the school if you ask.
How quickly can classes start?
Within about a week of the school confirming.
How do we know students are improving?
Level tests, homework records and progress reports.
