Terms of Service
Last updated: 28 September 2026 · Daizen Services Private Limited
Welcome to Daizen Chess Champs. These Terms of Service ("Terms") explain the rules for using our website www.daizenchesschamps.com, our mobile apps and our services, including free chess play, self-learning courses and live online classes (together, the "Platform").
The Platform is run by Daizen Services Private Limited, a private limited company registered in India, located at Hyderabad, Telangana 500084, India ("we", "us", "our").
1. Our services
- Free play: play chess against the computer or with a friend, daily puzzles and game review.
- Self-learning (paid plan): structured, level-based interactive lessons, puzzles and rewards.
- Live coaching (paid plan): two 1-hour live online classes a week in a small batch, taught in English, Telugu or Hindi, with homework between classes.
- Tournaments, camps and workshops: online events, which may be free or paid.
We may add, change or remove features from time to time. We will tell you in advance if a change significantly affects a paid plan you are currently using.
2. Who can use the Platform
- Adults (18 years or older) may create their own account.
- Children under 18 may use the Platform only through an account created and managed by a parent or legal guardian. The parent or guardian accepts these Terms on the child's behalf, consents to the child's data being processed as described in our Privacy Policy, and is responsible for the child's use of the Platform and for all payments.
- Parents should supervise young children's use of the Platform, especially during live classes.
3. Accounts and security
- Please give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password and one-time passwords (OTPs) private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Tell us immediately at hello@daizenchesschamps.com if you think someone has used your account without permission.
- Each account or child profile is for one learner. Paid access cannot be shared or resold.
4. Live classes
- Classes are held online at the scheduled time. You need a device with a stable internet connection, a working microphone and, where requested, a camera.
- We place students in batches by level, age and preferred language, and may move a student to a better-suited batch after assessment.
- Missed and cancelled classes are covered by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
- We may change the coach assigned to a batch. We will try to keep continuity and tell you in advance where possible.
- Homework, puzzles and course material are for the student's personal learning only.
5. Fees and payments
- Prices are shown on the Platform in Indian Rupees (₹) for learners in India and in US Dollars ($) elsewhere. Prices in India are inclusive of applicable GST unless stated otherwise. A receipt or tax invoice is sent to your registered email after each payment.
- Payments are processed securely by our payment partner, Razorpay. We do not store your full card, UPI or bank details.
- Plans are paid in advance for the period you choose (for example, monthly or yearly) and do not renew automatically. We will remind you before your plan ends, and you can choose whether to continue.
- A 10% sibling discount applies to live coaching for a second child from the same family, as described on our website.
- We may change prices for future periods. A price change never affects a period you have already paid for.
- Refunds and cancellations are covered by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
6. Code of conduct
To keep the Platform safe and friendly for children, all users (students, parents and coaches) agree not to:
- bully, harass, abuse, threaten or use offensive language towards anyone;
- share personal contact details (phone, address, social media) in class chats or games, or ask others for theirs;
- share inappropriate, violent, sexual or otherwise harmful content;
- pretend to be someone else, or create accounts for others without their (or their parent's) permission;
- record, screenshot or share live classes or other students' images or voices without permission;
- try to hack, disrupt, overload, copy or reverse-engineer the Platform, or use bots or scrapers;
- use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
Parents can report any concern to hello@daizenchesschamps.com. We take child-safety reports seriously and act on them promptly.
7. Fair play and tournaments
- Using chess engines, other people's help or any outside assistance during rated games, tests or tournaments is cheating.
- We may review games for fair play. If we find cheating, we may cancel results, remove ratings, certificates or prizes, and suspend the account.
- Each tournament may have its own rules, entry fee and prize terms, shown before you register. They form part of these Terms.
8. Class recordings
With consent given at sign-up, live classes may be recorded for student safety, quality checks and revision. Recordings are shared only with students of that batch, their parents and our staff, and are kept for 90 days unless needed longer to resolve a complaint. We will not use a child's image or voice in marketing without separate written permission from a parent.
9. Coaches
- Our coaches follow our curriculum, code of conduct and child-safety rules.
- Communication between coaches and students should happen through the Platform or official channels where a parent is included.
- To protect our coaches' agreements with us, you agree not to arrange private paid classes directly with a coach you met through the Platform for 12 months after your last class with that coach, without our written consent.
10. Our content and intellectual property
- Lessons, videos, curriculum, puzzles we create, graphics, characters, logos, software and other material on the Platform belong to Daizen Services Private Limited or our licensors and are protected by law.
- We give you a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use the content for your own (or your child's) learning while your access is active. You may not copy, sell, distribute or publicly share it.
- Some features use open-source software and public puzzle databases, which remain subject to their own licences.
- Games you play remain yours to review and share for personal, non-commercial use.
11. Disclaimers
- We work hard to provide quality coaching, but chess improvement depends on each student's practice and effort. We do not guarantee any particular rating, tournament result or achievement.
- The Platform is provided "as is". There may be interruptions, for example for maintenance or because of internet or third-party service problems.
- Computer analysis and automated explanations are learning aids and may not always be perfect.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the Platform. Our total liability for any claim about a paid plan is limited to the amount you paid us for that plan in the 3 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other laws that cannot be excluded.
13. Suspension and closing accounts
- You can close your account at any time by contacting us. Refunds follow our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, especially the code of conduct, child-safety or fair-play rules. Where it is safe to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date and tell you about significant changes by email, SMS or WhatsApp. Continuing to use the Platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any issue quickly. Subject to your rights as a consumer, the courts at Hyderabad, Telangana, India have jurisdiction.
