Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: 28 September 2026 · Daizen Services Private Limited

This policy explains how cancellations, missed classes and refunds work for plans bought from Daizen Chess Champs, run by Daizen Services Private Limited, on www.daizenchesschamps.com and our apps. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

In short: try a free demo class first · plans are paid in advance and never renew automatically · not happy after your first 2 paid classes? get a full refund · if your child misses a class, you get the recording and homework · if we cancel, you never lose the class · approved refunds reach your original payment method in 5 to 7 working days.

1. Free demo class

We offer a free demo class so you can meet a coach and see how classes work before paying. No payment details are needed to book a demo.

2. First-payment guarantee

  • Live coaching: if you are not happy after your first 2 paid classes, tell us within 7 days of your first payment and we will refund that first payment in full.
  • Self-learning: if the plan is not right for your child, tell us within 7 days of your first payment and we will refund it in full.
  • The guarantee applies once per student.

3. Monthly and yearly plans

  • Plans are paid in advance for the period you choose and do not renew automatically. There is nothing to cancel: if you do not pay for the next period, the plan simply ends. We remind you before it ends.
  • Monthly plans: after the first-payment guarantee, the fee for a month is not refundable once that month has started.
  • Yearly plans: a full refund if requested within 7 days of payment. After that, we refund the remaining full months, charged at the regular monthly price (without the yearly saving), minus the current month.
  • If we cannot deliver the classes you paid for (for example, we cannot find a suitable batch or we stop the service), you get a full refund for the undelivered part.
  • Refunds are based on the amount you actually paid, after any discount such as the 10% sibling discount.

4. Missed and rescheduled classes

SituationWhat happens

5. Tournaments, camps and workshops

  • Paid tournaments: entry fees are refundable if you withdraw at least 48 hours before the start. If we cancel a tournament, entry fees are refunded in full.
  • Camps and workshops: a full refund if cancelled at least 7 days before the start date, and 50% if cancelled after that but before the first session. No refund after the camp starts, unless we cancel sessions.
  • Players disqualified for cheating or breaking the code of conduct are not eligible for a refund.

6. When refunds are not given

  • Periods or classes already used, except as described above.
  • Accounts suspended for breaking our Terms of Service, including the code of conduct, child-safety or fair-play rules.
  • Requests made after the time limits in this policy.

This policy does not limit any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

7. How to request a refund

  1. Email accounts@daizenchesschamps.com with the parent's registered mobile number, student name, plan, payment date and reason.
  2. We acknowledge your request within 48 hours and confirm the decision within 5 working days.
  3. Approved refunds are sent through Razorpay to your original payment method and usually reach you within 5 to 7 working days, depending on your bank.
  4. Where applicable, a GST credit note is issued.

8. Pausing instead of cancelling

Exams, travel or illness? Live-coaching students can pause their plan for up to 1 month in every 6 months, with at least 7 days' notice. The paused time is added to the end of your plan, and we keep your child's place in the batch where possible.
