The test

What does the test check?

Two questions from each of our 7 levels: the pieces and the board, the rules, winning pieces safely, tactics like forks and pins, thinking two moves ahead, plans, and tournament endgames.

My child is a complete beginner. Is the test still useful?

Yes. They can skip any question they don't know. The result will simply say to start at Level 1, which is where every beginner starts.

Can I help my child during the test?

Please don't: the result is only useful if it shows what your child can do on their own. Reading a question out loud for a young child is fine.

Is this the same as the level check in the free demo?

No. In the demo, a coach checks the level face to face with different questions, and then suggests a batch. Book a free demo
